First things first…

CONGRATULATIONS!!

You’re engaged! You found that special someone and you want to spend the rest of your life learning life together. You’re likely over the top with excitement. And maybe the reality of planning a wedding is starting to set in.

Yikes!

Not to worry! I’m here to help. Planning a wedding does not have to be complicated or extravagant. Less is more in most things, and a wedding is no exception. I will be posting great ideas and advice on keeping things simple while still having the wedding of your dreams.

First things first…

Write down your engagement story. You might think you are going to remember every detail but believe me, it will fade a bit. If you have children, they will ask. And if you decide not to have children, you will want to remember the details on your 50th anniversary. Trust me on this one.

Include things like:

    • Where did it happen?
    • What was the time of day?
    • What was the weather like?
    • Who else was there?
    • Were you surprised?
    • Whom did you tell first? What was their reaction?
    • How was the question phrased?
    • What was the answer? (we are pretty sure my daughter never actually said “yes”!)

So write it down. Spread the news. Take a deep breath. Enjoy the moment. Jot down some of the ideas you have floating around in your head and come back here for more ideas on how to plan your fantastic day!
