Simplifying Color Choices

Hello! Today I’m diving into the world of colors. This is an area I struggle with and I have a feeling, or at least I hope, I’m not alone. This post is not just for picking out the colors for your wedding, but it can also apply to your home when picking out paint colors. Most often I know exactly the color I want and can see it very clearly in my mind. So I head to the paint department at the local big box store.

Overwhelm takes over.

I usually end up picking out dozens of paint chips, bring them all home, and spend days trying to figure out which one is the color that is in my head. I look at them in the morning. In the afternoon. When it’s dark. Against the trim. Against the flooring. And I narrow it down to “the one”. I start painting.

It’s not “the one”.

When you start to think about your wedding, many people go with their favorite color. But do you know what accent colors pair well with your favorite? Most people have a favorite color but not a favorite accent color. And maybe you want something slightly different than everyone else.

I found a product that can help! It’s called Color Cube by Sarah Renae Clark. These are curated color combinations. There are hundreds of them and some of the color combinations are not ones that I would put together yet they look great. You can get these as physical and/or digital products. I have the volume one of the physical product and I love it. There are 250 color combinations so you’re sure to find something that catches your eye. These color combinations can really make your wedding unique.

When I first got my cube, I dove right in. I found so many color combinations that caught my eye. I ended up going through it a few times and picking out my favorites. Each card includes the hex code for the color so you can easily use it for any digital print products you need like invitations, table number cards, thank yous, signs, etc.

As I said in the beginning, the Color Cube can be used when painting in your first home too which makes the small cost very economical.

That’s it! I hope this short post helps and gives you a quick and fun way to find just the right color for your big day!
