Bridal Showers Reinvented

Unique Ideas for Modern Couples

Let’s dive into the world of bridal showers. Bridal showers first started when couples used to live at home until they got married. They were used to shower the bride with all the things they needed to start their new home. Now, a lot of couples have already been living on their own for a while. They might not need yet another toaster. So here are a few ideas of what you can do instead of a traditional bridal shower.

Charity Fundraiser

Consider throwing some sort of event that you could use as a fundraiser for the couple’s favorite charity. It could be a carnival-style affair where the guests purchase tickets to play games. You could have simple prizes or even just the fun of playing the game. Instead of playing games, you could do a silent auction or raffle to raise money for their favorite charity.

Reverse Shower

Maybe the couple is combining two households and they have two of everything. Consider having a reverse shower. You could gather all the extra items and have a silent auction or raffle. Guests would then purchase tickets or place bids on the item that they would like. The proceeds would go towards the couple’s wedding expenses, honeymoon, or maybe an item for their new home.

Simple Gathering

And maybe all you want to do is just gather friends and family of the couple to make introductions before the wedding. There’s no need to bring gifts for the couple. It could be a very simple gathering, like in a park or at someone’s home. A fun and relaxed chance for the friends and family of the couple to get to know each other.

So if this is not your first wedding, or you’ve been on your own and have everything you could need for your new home, then consider having a simple gathering of friends and family to either raise money for charity or just have fun!
