12-Month Planning Checklist
So you just got engaged and you have a year to plan it. No problem!…in most cases that is. To help you navigate through this adventure, I’ve created a 12-month checklist to ensure you stay on track with your planning. Each month I have set a theme to help you focus on just one or two things at a time so it’s not overwhelming. You can download this free checklist here:
While planning a wedding in 12 months may seem like plenty of time, some areas that are more densely populated may need a bit more time to plan if you have your heart set on a popular venue. If you are open to other venues, you’ll likely be able to find something that is open within the next 12 months.
The biggest piece of advice I have is to try to focus on 1 or 2 things at a time. If you try to book the caterer, photographer, entertainment, and venue and find your dress all in one weekend, you’ll likely end up overwhelmed with nothing accomplished! Or you may feel rushed to make a quick decision. As they say, “Rome was not built in a day!” (did I really just use that quote and who is “they”?), so don’t feel like you need to get everything figured out at once. Take your time and try to enjoy the attention of being the star of the show and getting to decide what you and your partner like best.
If you are fortunate enough to have relatives or close friends who have done this before, be sure to tap into their expertise…as long as you are on the same wavelength. Read my post on advice here:
